Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Tutorial:
An introductory tutorial on the IABP. As this was written for anesthesia residents, I have tried to make it as clear as possible. The IABP, though simple in concept, is very hard to explain. So far no one has found any errors - but, as I have never read a description of the IABP that did not have errors, I am sure there must be some.
